Sustainability policy

We are renewing ourselves! In the quest to be more sustainable

In order to move towards a circular economy and true to our commitment to continuous improvement, we have recently redesigned our sustainability policy to minimize environmental impact and labor risks.

We now focus on four working pillars that encompass all processes in the production chain. These principles are:

1. Equity

We seek to ensure safe and dignified working conditions for our collaborators, as well as to promote good practices in our commercial relations with all those involved in our production processes.  In this line, the company holds the Fair Trade and WRAP Certifications , which ensure compliance with ethical and responsible commercial standards.

2. Enviroment

From raw material sourcing to packaging and final shipment of  your products, we ensure that we apply efficient practices to reduce our impact on the environment. We strive to prevent and reduce emissions, as well as to give new uses to textile waste. To this end, we are part of the Peru Carbon Footprint program and promote our own initiatives such as Why Alpaca and Re/Up Cycle.

3. Animal wellbeing

Another priority is to care for our community and heritage, a commitment we have exercised for more than 30 years. Therefore, we actively participate in the care and rescue of endangered vicunas and black alpacas. Likewise, we seek techniques to ensure the comfort and welfare of the animals, even from the time they are raised. In this pillar we promote the Inca EsquilaVicuna and Black Alpaka programs.

4. Resilience

Innovating and creating is part of our DNA. With a history of more than 30 years, we are committed to the adaptation and continuous improvement of alpaca fiber quality and the conditions of all those involved in the process. We are part of the Pacomarca Research Station, dedicated to genetic improvement, among others.

In this way, Incalpaca reaffirms its commitment to strengthen the projects and practices promoted in each pillar of its sustainability policy, which are applied with transparency and measurement of results for the welfare of the community surrounding its value chain.
