There exist two types of Llama. The “Lanuda” or “Chaku” that possesses abundant dense fiber, and the “Ccara” that is mostly used as an animal for carrying loads because its fiber is less abundant.
The llama´s fiber has a wide variety of shades that go from white to black and through greys and browns. Its quality is similar to that of the alpaca´s; however, a carding process is required to give the finish a more delicate touch. Without any doubt it is the most resistant fiber, with longstanding durability and is very easy to wash.
